Mediacom Router Login
Mediacom Communications is a cable internet and TV provider serving over 1.5 million customers primarily in the Midwest and Southeast US — smaller than Comcast or Charter but the dominant provider in many rural and mid-size markets across Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Georgia, and Alabama. Mediacom deploys Technicolor, Arris, and Hitron gateways to residential customers. Because the hardware varies by installation, the admin IP depends on which model you have.

How to Log In
- Connect to your Mediacom WiFi or via ethernet cable into the gateway
- Open a browser and try
http://192.168.100.1first — if that doesn't load, tryhttp://192.168.0.1 - Check the label on the back or bottom of your gateway — it should list the admin IP
- Enter the username and password from the table above (or from your label for newer models)
Mediacom Xtream App
Mediacom's Xtream app (branded Xtream by Mediacom) provides account management and basic network controls from your phone — WiFi password changes, speed tests, and bill payment. It doesn't replace the full gateway admin panel but covers the most common tasks without needing to know the admin IP.
Change WiFi Password
- Log in to the gateway admin panel (192.168.100.1 or 192.168.0.1)
- Navigate to Wireless or Basic → WiFi Settings
- Update the password for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands
- Click Save — devices must reconnect with the new password
Bridge Mode / Own Router
To use your own router with Mediacom service, enable bridge mode on the gateway to pass the public IP through to your router. Look for "Gateway Function" or "Bridge Mode" in the gateway admin panel. The exact menu location varies by gateway model — Technicolor units typically have it under Basic → Gateway Function. After enabling, connect your router's WAN port to the gateway's LAN port.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Neither IP loads | You may be on a different device's WiFi — reconnect to the Mediacom gateway's WiFi specifically |
| admin/password rejected | Newer Hitron gateways use a unique label password — check the sticker |
| No internet after bridge mode | Your router needs to be set up to receive the public IP via DHCP on its WAN port |
| Need faster speeds / better hardware | Contact Mediacom — they can provision newer gateway equipment as it becomes available in your area |
