Hitron Router Login

Hitron Technologies is a Taiwanese cable modem and gateway manufacturer deployed by major North American ISPs — particularly Cox Communications, Rogers (Canada), and Shaw (Canada, acquired by Rogers). Their gateways use a distinctive admin address: 192.168.100.1, which places them in the 192.168.100.x subnet rather than the more common 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x ranges. The username on most Hitron gateways is cusadmin (customer admin) and the default password is password, though ISPs sometimes change the credentials during provisioning.

cusadmin vs admin: Newer Hitron models (including some recent Cox deployments) switched from cusadmin to admin with a unique password on the device label. If cusadmin/password fails, check the label.

How to Log In

  1. Connect to the Hitron WiFi or via ethernet
  2. Open a browser and go to http://192.168.100.1
  3. Username: cusadmin   Password: password
  4. The Hitron interface shows Status, Basic, Advanced, Wireless, Parental Control, and Local Admin tabs
  5. Under Basic → Gateway you can put the unit into Bridge Mode to use your own router

Bridge Mode (Use Your Own Router)

If you want to use your own router while keeping the Hitron for cable signal termination, put it in Bridge Mode:

  1. Log in at 192.168.100.1
  2. Go to Basic → Gateway Function
  3. Set Gateway Function to Disable (this is Bridge Mode on Hitron)
  4. Save and reboot — the Hitron passes your ISP's public IP directly to your router's WAN port

After enabling Bridge Mode, your router gets the public IP and the Hitron admin panel is no longer accessible at 192.168.100.1 from behind your own router — access it directly via ethernet before your router.

Change WiFi Password

  1. Log in at 192.168.100.1
  2. Go to Wireless
  3. Select the band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)
  4. Update the Pre-Shared Key / Password field
  5. Click Apply

Troubleshooting

ProblemFix
cusadmin/password not workingISP may have changed credentials or it's a newer model — check label for admin account
192.168.100.1 not loadingVerify you're connected to Hitron (not another router) — 192.168.100.x is Hitron-specific
Port forwarding greyed outISP locks port forwarding on some deployments — contact Cox/Rogers to enable it
Can't access 192.168.100.1 in Bridge ModeBridge mode disables the router function — connect directly to a LAN port via ethernet

Factory Reset

Hold the reset button on the back of the gateway for 10–15 seconds with power on. The gateway reboots and returns to cusadmin/password defaults (or label credentials on newer models). ISP provisioning data typically reloads automatically after the reset.
