Zyxel Router Login
Zyxel is a Taiwanese networking company that surprises people at login: the default password on most of their routers is 1234, not "admin" or "password" like almost every other brand. If you've been trying admin/admin on a Zyxel and getting nowhere, that's the reason. Username is admin, password is 1234 — on consumer routers. ISP-deployed Zyxel units (including the CenturyLink C3000Z) have a unique password printed on the device label.
The admin IP is 192.168.1.1 for most home models. Some DSL gateways deployed by ISPs may use 192.168.0.1 or a different address. Zyxel covers a wide range — everything from budget home routers to serious business firewalls (the USG/ATP series used in small offices).
Default Credentials by Series

| USG Flex / ATP (business) | USG Flex 100, 200, 500; ATP100 | admin | 1234 | 192.168.1.1 |

Zyxel's Product Range Explained
Zyxel makes equipment for several distinct markets, and it's worth knowing which category you have:
- NBG series (home routers) — Standard consumer WiFi routers, sold retail. The NBG7815 is their flagship AX6000 WiFi 6 unit. Managed via the Zyxel web UI or Zyxel Connect app.
- VMG series (DSL gateways) — Deployed by ISPs for DSL or fiber connections. Same web interface as NBG, but WAN settings are pre-configured by the ISP. Often locked from changing ISP-specific settings.
- C3000Z (CenturyLink) — Zyxel-built gateway deployed for CenturyLink / Quantum Fiber DSL. Uses a unique label password, not 1234. Admin IP is 192.168.0.1. See the CenturyLink login guide for full details.
- USG / ATP / VPN series (business) — Security gateways with full firewall, SSL VPN, IDP, and content filtering. Managed via web GUI or Zyxel's Nebula cloud platform. These are not home devices — they sit at network edges in small offices.
How to Log In
- Connect to the Zyxel WiFi or via ethernet
- Open a browser and go to
http://192.168.1.1 - Username: admin
- Password: 1234 (or the label password on ISP-deployed units)
- On current firmware, Zyxel will prompt you to change the default password immediately after login
Zyxel Nebula (Cloud Management)
Zyxel's Nebula platform allows cloud-managed deployment of Nebula-capable APs, switches, and security gateways from a central dashboard. Useful for businesses with multiple locations or IT teams managing multiple sites. Nebula-enabled devices show a cloud icon in the admin UI and can be claimed to a Nebula organization. Free tier available for small deployments.
Change WiFi Password
- Log in at 192.168.1.1
- Go to Network Setting → Wireless → General
- Update the Pre-Shared Key field
- Click Apply for each band
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| admin/admin rejected | Zyxel default is 1234, not admin — try admin/1234 |
| 1234 also rejected | ISP-deployed model or password was changed — check label, or factory reset |
| C3000Z (CenturyLink) login | Use 192.168.0.1, not 192.168.1.1 — and label password, not 1234 |
| USG shows certificate warning | Business Zyxel devices use HTTPS with self-signed cert — accept the browser exception |
| Nebula cloud locked down settings | Settings managed by Nebula are read-only on the local interface — change from Nebula dashboard |
Factory Reset
Press and hold the reset button (back or bottom of device) for 5–10 seconds with power on. LEDs flash and the device reboots. After reset, admin/1234 credentials apply (or the label password on ISP models). All custom settings — WiFi, port forwarding, firewall rules — are erased.
