DrayTek Router Login
DrayTek is a Taiwanese company making ADSL/VDSL/fiber routers popular in small businesses and with technically demanding home users, particularly in the UK, Ireland, and Australia. Their routers (the Vigor series) have unusually deep feature sets: dual WAN, site-to-site VPN, detailed traffic shaping, VLAN support, and extensive QoS. The admin panel is at 192.168.1.1 and the default username is admin with no password — the password field is left blank on first login. DrayTek forces a password change before full access is granted.
Vigor Series Models
| Series | Connection Type | Target User | Key Feature |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vigor 2760 / 2762 | ADSL2+ / VDSL2 | Home / small business | Dual WAN (DSL + ethernet) |
| Vigor 2865 / 2866 | VDSL2 / fiber | SMB | 35b Super-vectoring, VPN server |
| Vigor 2927 | Ethernet WAN (fiber) | SMB | Dual gigabit WAN, load balancing |
| Vigor 3910 | Multi-WAN | Medium business | 10G SFP+, high throughput VPN |
| Vigor AP series | Access points (no WAN) | Enterprise WiFi | Managed from a Vigor router |
How to Log In
- Connect via ethernet to a LAN port (recommended — DrayTek routers are often used without WiFi in wired office setups)
- Open a browser and go to
http://192.168.1.1 - Username: admin
- Password: leave the field completely blank and click Login
- DrayTek immediately requires you to set a new admin password — do this before any other configuration
- After setting the password, you'll see the Vigor dashboard with internet status, VPN status, and system info
DrayTek's Interface
DrayTek's web UI is dense — more options than most consumer routers, organized into categories like Internet Access, LAN, VPN, Firewall, Bandwidth Management, Applications, and System Maintenance. The depth is intentional: Vigor routers target users who actually want this level of control. If you just want to change your WiFi password without navigating enterprise-level menus, DrayTek may be more than you need.
Change WiFi Password
- Log in at 192.168.1.1
- Go to Wireless LAN → Security (for 2.4 GHz) or Wireless LAN (5 GHz) → Security
- Under WPA, update the Pre-Shared Key field
- Click OK to save
VPN Features
DrayTek routers support site-to-site IPsec VPN, SSL VPN for remote users, L2TP/IPsec, and OpenVPN. VPN tunnels can be created between two Vigor routers (branch office to main office) or from a remote device to the Vigor using DrayTek's Smart VPN Client application. Up to 32 simultaneous VPN tunnels on mid-range models.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Blank password rejected | A password was already set — if you don't know it, factory reset required |
| 192.168.1.1 unreachable | Connect via ethernet, not WiFi — some models have WiFi disabled by default |
| Can't find WiFi settings | DrayTek menu structure is complex — Wireless LAN is a top-level menu item |
| Remote admin not working | Enable under System Maintenance → Management → Remote Management |
Factory Reset
Hold the Factory Reset button on the back for 5 seconds while the router is on. All settings return to factory defaults including the blank admin password. On the Vigor 2865 and newer, press and hold the front panel button combination — check the manual for your specific model as the process varies.
