Verizon Fios Router Login

Verizon Fios gateways use a unique admin password per device — there is no universal default like "admin" or "password". Every Fios gateway ships from the factory with a random password printed on a sticker on the back or bottom of the unit. Look for a label that says "Admin Password" or "GUI Password" — that's your login credential. The username is always admin.

You can reach the admin panel at myfiosgateway.com (a local hostname the router intercepts) or the IP address 192.168.1.1. Both go to the same place. The My Fios app provides most of the same settings in a mobile-friendly interface and works remotely over your Verizon account.

Find Your Admin Password

The admin password is not guessable — it's a random alphanumeric string specific to your gateway. Here's where to find it:

  • Flip the Fios gateway over or look at the back panel
  • Find the sticker with your device info
  • Look for a field labeled Admin Password, GUI Password, or Router Password
  • This is different from the WiFi password on the same label

If someone changed the admin password and you no longer know it, the only option is a factory reset (covered below) — there's no recovery mechanism.

How to Log In

  1. Connect to your Fios WiFi or use an ethernet cable into a LAN port on the gateway
  2. Open a browser and go to http://myfiosgateway.com or http://192.168.1.1
  3. Username: admin
  4. Password: the unique password from the sticker on your gateway
  5. Click Sign In — you'll see the Fios gateway dashboard showing internet status, WiFi networks, and connected devices

My Fios App

The My Fios app logs in with your Verizon account (not the gateway admin password) and lets you manage your network remotely. It also handles Fios TV and account billing in the same app.

  • Change WiFi name and password
  • See all connected devices and pause internet per device
  • Set up a guest WiFi network
  • Run a speed test from the gateway's connection
  • Manage parental controls with schedules per device

Change WiFi Password

  1. Log in at myfiosgateway.com
  2. Go to Wireless Settings (top navigation)
  3. Select the WiFi network you want to change (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)
  4. Click Edit
  5. Update the WPA2 Password field
  6. Click Apply

The G3100 supports WPA3 in addition to WPA2. If all your devices support WPA3, it's worth switching — it provides stronger protection against offline password attacks.

Port Forwarding on Fios

  1. Log in at myfiosgateway.com
  2. Go to Advanced → Port Forwarding
  3. Click Add
  4. Select the application or enter custom ports, then choose the target device
  5. Save — the rule activates immediately

For reliable port forwarding, set an IP reservation for the target device first under Advanced → IP Address Distribution → Connection List. Right-click the device and select Set as Reserved IP.

Factory Reset

  1. Find the reset button on the back of the gateway (recessed pinhole)
  2. With the gateway powered on, press and hold for 15 seconds using a pin or paperclip
  3. The Power LED flashes — release
  4. The gateway reboots to its out-of-box state — takes 2–3 minutes
  5. Log in with the admin password from the label (which still applies after a reset)
