Mercusys Router Login

Mercusys is TP-Link's budget sub-brand, launched to compete at even lower price points than TP-Link's own TL-WR series. The relationship is similar to how Redmi is to Xiaomi — same parent company, simplified hardware, lower cost. The admin interface is nearly identical to older TP-Link firmware, the credential system is the same (admin/admin), and the hostname follows the same pattern: mwlogin.net instead of TP-Link's tplinkwifi.net.

The admin IP is 192.168.0.1 and default credentials are admin / admin. Mercusys routers are particularly common in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Latin America.

Mercusys vs TP-Link: What's Different?

Since Mercusys is TP-Link's budget line, the two are often compared directly:

  • Price: Mercusys is typically 20–40% cheaper than equivalent TP-Link models
  • Interface: Nearly identical admin UI — if you've used older TP-Link firmware, Mercusys looks the same
  • Hostname: TP-Link uses tplinkwifi.net, Mercusys uses mwlogin.net
  • Features: Mercusys skips some advanced features like detailed QoS, VPN server, and some parental control options
  • Support: Mercusys gets fewer firmware updates than TP-Link's main lineup
